"How can I ever express the happiness of a marriage joined by the Church, strengthened by an offering, sealed by a blessing, announced by angels, and ratified by the Father?... How wonderful the bond between two believers, now one in hope, one in desire, one in discipline, one and the same service! They are both children of one Father and servants of the same Master, undivided in spirit and flesh, truly two in one flesh. Where the flesh is one, one also is the spirit." (Tertullian, Ad uxorem. CCC 1642)
Getting married at Holy Family
Congratulations on your engagement! We are honored to accompany you as you prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony. Marriage is a beautiful vocation from God to an exclusive, lifelong union between a man and a woman open to receiving God's blessing of children. Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding at Cana (cf. Jn. 2:1-11) to show His particular care for marriage, which He elevated from its natural state to the dignity of a sacrament.
Scheduling a Wedding at Holy Family
Weddings at Holy Family are celebrated for those couples in which either the bride or groom or their family is a registered and active member of our parish. Preparation for the sacrament requires a minimum of six months, and weddings may be scheduled up to one year in advance. Please read the following summary of the parish and archdiocesan requirements, and fill out the Wedding Inquiry Form at the bottom of the page.
Please reach out to our Marriage Formation Coordinator, Elizabeth Brown, at [email protected] with questions.
